It’s understandable that there are some Animals That Scare Us To Death.
It’s especially not surprising, knowing that there are people who are just one paper cut away from calling in sick for the rest of the week.
Top 10 Animals That Scare Us To Death
I’m sure, for many, Pigeons are the last thing you’d think of when asked what animal frightens you.
And it’s true that they are largely beloved in much of America. Unless, of course, you just had your car washed.
But many considered nothing more than rats with wings who are worthy of fear and contempt.
Partly due to their droppings allow for fungal growth that proliferates disease if not washed.
Although Bears do attack humans they’re much rarer than you would think.
Nevertheless, the thought of one of these behemoths lurking around the next tree is enough to make us think twice about trying out those new hiking boots you got for Christmas.
The reality is, Bears are practically harmless so long as you don’t threaten them, their newborn, or their food.
Yes, the king of the jungle is also found on our list of the most beloved animals in the world.
Of course, that is due to how Hollywood portrays them in the movies. Like the cute and cuddly Simba in Walt Disney’s The Lion King.
But if you approach a real lion in the wild, I can guarantee you Simba won’t be so warm and fuzzy.
These nasty little fish with their cold dead eyes, razor-sharp teeth, and driven by an instinct to tear flesh, and devour any meat that mistakingly wanders in their waters.
Piranhas are nothing more than savage cold-blooded killers who personify death.
The only reason that scorpions aren’t far more frightening to human beings is their relative geographic containment.
But make no mistake these vicious little stinging bastards’ love holding up in the darkest possible corners. Just for the chance to menace you with pincers and venom.
If Scorpions were as common as spiders, we’d all hate them with far more passion.
Ever heard of the “death roll”? Don’t get too close to the water, or you just may find out firsthand what it is.
Once these reptiles get an animal or person in their jaw, they attempt to use this strategy to tear body parts or limbs.
As with piranha and scorpions, the only reason that these living dinosaurs aren’t higher on the list is due to being so geographically isolated.
But it’s still scary knowing Gators, and Crocs can lay motionless for hours. Just waiting for you or another animal to walk by and then…BAM!
Let the Death Roll commence.
Despite thinking it’ll strike fear into the hearts of his enemies, Batman would have been better off choosing an animal that’s actually dangerous.
Though we fear bats for their leathery wings and homely faces, and of course, being related to Dracula.
Bats in general pretty much do nothing but eat insects and quietly hang upside down just chillin’ in their caves.
Who doesn’t fear being bitten and contracting rabies from huge feral rats that live in the sewers?
Certainly, these mostly nocturnal scavengers are worth being worried about.
But most rats are actually highly clean, kind, gentle creatures. Think of them as oversized mice.
Rats tend to want nothing more than a little peace and quiet, a bit of food, and a nest to build.
Snakes get a lot of press because of such species as the Cobra with their big frills and all the threatening showmanship.
True, many snake species do have a deadly bite, but they shouldn’t frighten you very much, since they’re clearly more into posturing and ego.
But some species of snakes like the Black Mamba, which kill more people than any other snake.
Black Mamba’s will not only NOT give you a warning that they’re about to strike. They’re so aggressive they literally chase you down just to chomp you.
#1 Great White Shark
Consistently taking the crown for the world’s most frightening animal, Great Whites really aren’t all that bad.
What truly turned them into the menacing cold-blooded killers we know them to be today, was the 1975 blockbuster: Jaws.
Since then, just the mention of the Great White Shark makes us leery to dip our toes in the ocean.
They’re full of teeth and are without a doubt mindless killers, but the chance that they’re actually a threat to humans is very slim.
Still, seeing the footage of those black dolls eyes rolling back into its head as their teeth sink into flesh is a sight you won’t soon forget.
